EXCITING PROGRESS ON OUR HOPE HUB BUILDING FUND

By now you will be aware that we have set out on an ambitious and faith-stretching journey to raise the funds to establish a bricks-and-mortar home for Teen Challenge in Launceston. It is with great pleasure that I write to let you know that we are so very close to achieving that goal.

In the past month, supporters of Teen Challenge have generously sown into this vision, raising $175,550. Another two individuals have pledged to loan an additional $400,000. This brings us to a staggering $551,650 towards the fundraising target. We are overjoyed and humbled by your donations, and by God’s faithfulness in this project.

The remaining amount we need to raise before July 31 to comply with the contract is $343,735. If you haven’t given, we encourage you to prayerfully consider a donation. And a reminder, Teen Challenge is a registered charity and any donations are fully tax deductible.

Some Background

In April, we signed a contract to purchase a Launceston CBD building to house our operations and enable us to expand. The contract has no out-clause—that’s how much we believe that the building is right for us and that our God is more than capable of making it happen! We’ve seen God’s faithfulness in delivering big numbers in the past, such as the 60,354 young people whose mindsets around alcohol and drug use have shifted or completely changed. We have been seeking God’s guidance and have seen a way being made forward. This is just the last little push!

But why does Teen Challenge Tasmania need a building?

Purchasing this building will give us the freedom to do so much more, including:

-        The delivery of more services to those in need.

-        Autonomy and authenticity. We won’t have to dilute our mission or voice.

-        Moving us towards a self-sustaining model, reducing our reliance on fundraising.

-        Expansion of our ministries and projects, preventing people from entering the path of addiction.

-        A permanent and accessible presence in the CBD for Christ-centred ministry.
